Great Stories from great people
Pam at Canine Spirit has been the trainer for our family for over 15 years. When we say "trainer for our family" we mean just that. Pam makes it very clear on your first class with her that she isn't there to just train your dog, she's there to train you and your family as well, so that the years spent with your dog are happy, fun and fulfilling for all.

Manners Matter for all Mutts!
Small, Group Classes held outdoors:
For : Puppies under 20 weeks
For : Young Dogs 5 months and older
There are 6 weekly classes , approx. 1 hour each
Puppy classes include :
The Puppy Manners is a series of 6 classes designed for puppies under 20 weeks of age. When your puppy is older, they can transfer into the adolescent / young adult classes.
This is an outdoor class which can sometimes be affected by the weather. A light rain may be ok but a downpour isn’t. I would like both the humans and the dogs to enjoy the class so class could be postponed. Having said that, we've often been blessed with a break in the weather for an hour. In any case, if a class is going to be postponed due to weather , the call is made an hour before class. That is the call is in the form of a group text.
Included:
- Correct Socialization
- Appropriate place with people and with other dogs
- Attention & Involvement
- Mat Work / Settle
- Walking on a loose leash
- COME!
- Leave it / Drop it / what's the difference
- Sit/ Down / Targets
Understand solutions for your behavior concerns such as :
- Housetraining questions of all kinds
- Nipping / biting and how to build a softer mouth and good bite inhibition
- Play / games that build bonds
- Preventing separation distress
- Enrichment / meaningful activity
- Socialization / with dogs / with people /
- Shaping and Influencing Behavior
- What dogs need in order to learn

- Stationary games with Sit, Down and did you say 'STAY'?!

Young Dogs who have a little more experience also require opportunities to socialize and rehearse with a supportive group. Their class is geared toward learning new behaviors while generalizing and proofing the skills they learned in Puppy Class.
